Norman Lear comes off like this kindly old gent now..........but if you see film clips of him from the 1970s it's clear he was a major prick. He fired / killed off the best actor on "Good Times" and almost fired / killed off his bread and butter from "All In The Family". If he had followed through with firing CO'C, that show would have been shit canned before another 20 episodes aired. He's damn lucky CO'C caved. Seems everyone thought they were getting screwed by NL. That's why we had all those "Grady & Son" episodes. Redd Foxx went on a wildcat strike too. *NM*
