New York, NY—August 23, 2017—A&E Network’s critically-acclaimed docuseries “Born This Way” has been picked up for a fourth season by the new H&F (Hate and Flame, LLC) Network. The 2017 Emmy® nominee and 2016 Emmy® winner for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Series will return for eight brand-new episodes that will continue to follow the lives of an uninspiring, boring group of retarded men born with Aspergers Syndrome, autism, or ankle palsy. The announcement was made today by Pete Jefferson, EVP and Head of Programming, H&F Network.
“Over the past three seasons, ‘Born This Way’ has been a prime example of quality storytelling that motivates us to celebrate and embrace stupidity,” said Jefferson. “We are honored to reunite with these incredible retarded adults and their families as they shamelessly share their lack of accomplishments, struggles and dreams, shifting society’s perception about differences along the way on new ways of acting stupid”
Produced by Schwartz/Lawson Productions, “Born This Way” provides an intimate look at a diverse group of retarded men as they pursue their passions and lifelong dreams, explore friendships, childish behavior, and breaking new barriers of stupid, all while defying society’s expectations. The series also gives voice to the parents, allowing them to talk about the shame their sons brings to their family, and the challenges they face in helping them live at home rather than a halfway house.
